So Your Child is
...Where to Start?
There are many things you can do at home that can improve the health of your child with Autism, ADHD, and other developmental disabilities. Even before you meet with our office, implementing these changes can help improve behavior and treatment results.
1.
Make an
Appointment with Us
We will provide a step-by step treatment plan based on your child’s individual needs. However, while waiting for your appointment, try the steps listed above for head start.
4.
Reduce
Processed Foods
These foods are full of chemicals and substances that negatively affect behavior. Cooking at home will help keep you in control of what your child is eating and make it easier to know what is in the food you’re eating.
2.
Gluten-Free,
Casein-Free Diet
This means eliminating as many sources of gluten and casein as you can. (There is much research supporting the benefits of a gluten-free casein free diet in behavior and treatment outcomes for those with autism).
5.
Join a
Parent Group
There is power in numbers!
Parent groups are an amazing source of information and support. Check social media for a group near you.
3.
Reduce
Toxic Exposures
Try where possible to purchase organic foods (especially those in the dirty dozen)
Use home products with as few chemicals as possible
