This question is a common one so I thought I would tackle it here.
Dairy is a very common allergen so its prudent to eliminate it for any kids showing signs of food allergy/sensitivity/intolerance.
Diary is very pro-inflammatory and many kids with autism benefit from cooling inflammation systemically. This includes eliminating inflammatory foods like diary.
Folate (B9) is a necessary nutrient for cognitive development. Diary is known to block the folate receptors on the brain, making it hard for folate to enter the nervous system where it is needed to promote adequate folate levels in the brain.
We will work with you individually to determine if eliminating dairy is appropriate or necessary during our visit.
Why do we recommend dairy/casein free diet for kids with Autism?
